Welcome to First Adventure, Personalised Rock Climbing Tuition in Leeds
First Adventure is an outdoor activity company specialising in rock climbing, we are based in Leeds and were established in 2010. Since then we have been delivering rock climbing lessons in Leeds for some of the major outdoor company's in the area, at various locations around the country. Over the last few years we have been gradually becoming more independent as we believe our customers deserve a tailored climbing experience at a reasonable price. So whether your just starting out and want to try a rock climbing lesson or have been rock climbing a while and want to learn new skills like indoor lead climbing then we can help. We offer a range of rock climbing sessions at a number of venues in Leeds and surrounding area, all our climbing lessons can be tailor made so you get the most out of it.
We offer a number of different courses to suit your needs, if you have never tried climbing before and not sure its for you then one of our taster sessions would be best for you. Unlike some of the big centres our centre our sessions are 2 hours long, this allows us to take the time you may need to get the most out of the session and feel confident and in control.
If you want to become an independent climber then our beginners climbing course will teach you what you need to know, our course is completed in one day. The day is broken down into 3 sessions covering the basics you need when you learn to climb in a roped environment, giving you the confidence to be independent by the end of the day.
If your already top rope climbing and feel that your ready for the next step then lead climbing may be for you. Our course will teach you all you need to know to be a confident lead climber and belayer over 3 sessions all we ask is that you have been an active top rope climber for around 6 months and are comfortable climbing at 5+. We also offer outdoor climbing at a number of venues around Yorkshire.
All our courses are run as a private booking so you get a bespoke climbing session at your pace, we select our venues to best suit the session but we are flexible and can travel to venues around Yorkshire for full or half day events.
Beginners: Learn to Climb Course
On our learn to climb beginners course our instructors will teach you everything you need to register as a new climber at your local climbing centre. We have developed our learn to climb course, so you can be climbing independently in a day (6 hours) the course is designed to run with 2 people or more.
Lead Climbing Course
When you're ready to push yourself more then top roping climbing our lead climbing course can teach you all you need to know to lead climb at your local wall. Our courses are delivered by CWDI qualified instructors, the course will cover best practise when lead belay, clipping quick draws and general hazards when leading. Outdoor Climbing
Here at First Adventure, we carry a wide range of Outdoor climbing courses to suit all ability levels. We operate at a number of venues around Yorkshire and the Peak District including Almscliffe, Ilkley, Brimham and Stanage to name but a few. Our most popular products are real rock climbing inductions and rock rigging. Real rock climbing inductions are open to all regardless of experience, to try climbing on real rock.
